COURSE GOALS
Delaware Defensive Driving, Inc. ("The
D Team") is extremely pleased
to present this unique insurance reduction
defensive driving course. A course that
will take you further into real-life-on-the-road
experiences than most, if
not all, courses now offered.
One of
the major goals of "The
D Team" course is to increase
the odds for accident free driving. Unclear
traffic laws and inconsistent intersection
designs that create unpredictable traffic
patterns increasing the odds of leading
the unsuspecting motorists into a web of
destruction will be emphasized. Additionally,
"The D Team"
course includes a general review of major
traffic laws presently regulating the roadways
of the State of Delaware.
Unfortunately,
driving a motor vehicle contains one of
the more unpleasant principles of life --
there are no guarantees for collision avoidance.
Perhaps after hearing the "The
D Team" "Smart-
Defense" message and recommending
it to your family members and friends, the
odds of returning home safely will increase
on Delaware roadways.

A GUARANTEE
from "The D Team":
Not only will you reduce your automobile
insurance by completing this course, but
also you will absolutely gain additional
knowledge from our "Smart-Defense"
curriculum. It doesn.t matter if you
are a new driver or if you have been driving
for more than fifty years, you will become
a SMARTER DRIVER –
that is "The D Team"
GUARANTEE. However, whether
or not you utilize your new gained knowledge
to become a SAFER DRIVER
is up to you.
THE FORCE
THE
FORCE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND: "Smart-Defense"
by "The D Team"
believes all occupants of a motor vehicle
in motion should be aware of the consequences
of violating "NATURE'S
LAW" herein known as "THE
FORCE" -- an object in motion
(HUMAN MISSLE) remains
in motion until "THE SECOND
CRASH"!
View a
real life "SECOND CRASH"
scenario -- yellow and black arrow in picture
#1-2 below. The "FIRST CRASH"
occurred when two vehicles collided. The
"SECOND CRASH"
happened when the unbuckled driver continued
in motion and unfortunately smashed into
the front windshield.

There is
no question THE FORCE is
a more formidable opponent than Man's
law (POLICE OFFICER).
Picture
#3

Okay, maybe this POLICE OFFICER
is formidable, but he does not possess the
power of THE FORCE –
see picture #1-4 directly below.

PRINCIPLES
OF THE FORCE
1.
THE FORCE is on every spot, on
every road, every second of every day.
2.
THE FORCE does not care who you
are.
3.
THE FORCE does not allow you to
plea bargain.
4.
Please remember -- THE FORCE
is not your friend and it will be with you
throughout your entire driving experience.
THE
POWER OF THE FORCE
Speed
– the faster you go the stronger
the FORCE.
Angles – the sharper
the angle (curves) the stronger the FORCE.
Traction -- a slippery
road surface will make the FORCE
more powerful.
THE LAW
Did you
know Delaware has a "move
over law"?

Picture #6
The MOVE
OVER LAW is recent and not well
publicized. It is also not known by many
Delaware motorists. Furthermore, out of
state drivers who travel through our state
are generally not aware of this MOVE
OVER law thus creating further
safety concerns when an aware driver attempts
to comply.
"YOU
BE THE JUDGE" – be
careful when attempting to comply. The law
specifically states: "if
possible with due regard to safety and traffic
conditions"
SPECIAL
TRAFFIC TICKET ALERT: Please remember
it is illegal to enter a right-turn lane
from the shoulder of the road – see
picture #6-11 below.
Picture
#7
"The
D Team" understands
the temptation is high to enter the right-turn
lane from the shoulder when traffic in the
through lane is backed-up and you can see
a clear path to the right-turn lane by using
the shoulder. It is even more tempting when
you can see in your right side-view mirror
a line of illegal motorists about to make
your move into the right-turn lane a little
less safe. However, it is still illegal.
The best advice "The D
Team" can offer is the
advice fromChapter #3 -- "YOU
BE THE JUDGE "!
